Engineer Weapons

From Anarchy Online Wiki [AOWiki]

Weapons[edit]

Does one have to use weapons as Engineer? One should, if only to tap off some useful bonuses provided by some weapons. At the beginning one will mostly not match the damage of their Bots but in higher Levels the Engi can contribute more than half of the total damage with weapons. If want to PvP, you will need a weapon since other players will be targeting you and not your bot..

Pistols[edit]

Advantages: easy to buff Pistol Skill (20 Expertise + 120 Extreme Prejudice + 40 Pistol Mastery + 132 Wrangle = 312), you can equip 2 pistols, large variety of pistols, interesting bonuses, the pistol weapon skill is light blue, SL players have Pistol Perks.

Disadvantages: On the more interesting models its not so easy to equip two of them, Multi Ranged must be increased (dark blue), many guns require additional Fling Shot and / or burst (dark blue).

Buff Pistols[edit]

These pistols, buff skills that help in getting higher level robots but lack in damage.

  • Second-Hand Old English Trading Co. Second-Hand Old English Trading Co. (Buff Weapon) is used for its intelligence bonus. The QL1 can equipped without a single IP increase.
  • O.E.T. Co. Jess O.E.T. Co. Jess (Buff Weapon) is the same pistol in thick. The bonuses are on Intelligence and Psychic +20 / +20 very high, the requirements for Multi Ranged low, but something has to increase Fling Shot. Damage makes it thus completely negating, but +40 on Intelligence in two weapons has resulted in 8-point bonus to all nano skills, which may be essential. Moreover, allowing one of the bonus, the Reanimators Cloak to higher levels, which in turn possibly several more AC bonus to nano skills and means.

Beginning Pistol[edit]

  • The Original Electronicum Electronicum The Original Electronicum does reasonable damage. Can be purchased from Jobe ([Shawdowland]) up to QL50. After that boss loot only.
  • Eyemutant Orb Laser Eyemutant Eyemutant Orb Laser ( tradeskill) You can make it and has high minimum damage with fling shot attack.
  • Chimera Pistol Chimera Pistol good Shadowlands starting weapon. With this weapon you can get along for a while. The damage is good, the moderate demands and can dual wield them.
  • Solar-Powered Master Engineer Pistol Engineer Pistol (Beginning to end) just needs one weapon skill, namely Pistol. If you properly multi level this weapon, the damage is quite considerable, and there your other hand to equip another useful pistol. The bonus to life is particularly interesting for Nanomag before, the bonuses to Trade Skills for all Trade killer.

Intermediate Pistol[edit]

  • Customized IMI Desert Reet 1000 Customized IMI Desert Reet 1000 (CDR) - High min damage and low high damage make it best for SL mobs. Fast burst/fling recharges and no MBS. Drops from either the Lab Director in the Biomare Dungeon or the Notum Soldier (Spawned by PH. Coords: 2000x2400, Eastern Fouls Plains). This works especially well with {{safesubst:#if:|Mechanic Pistol/164500/ {{{3}}}|Solar-Powered Mechanic Pistol}}, an upgraded version of the Solar Powered Pistol mentioned above, since they both do Fire damage.
  • Flux Pistol Flux Pistol - Slow but with exceptional minimum damage, making it good for SL mobs. Is the weapon of choice against Heckler. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of Fling shot and multi ranged, so it is difficult to equip two at a time.
  • Solar-Powered Mechanic Pistol Upgraded Solar Powered Pistol - see above. Especially good for RK mobs.
  • Pain of Patricia Pain of Patricia (NODROP) - Mainly for RK mobs. Drops from Patrica Johnson at ace camp (guide here). When combined with the Engineer Pistol makes it a deadly combination for a Froob account.
  • Special Edition Kyr'Ozch Pistol Special Edition Kyr'Ozch Pistol - drops in Sector 7 comes with Burst and Fling Shot specials. Easy enough to dual equip.

End Game Pistol[edit]

  • Infused Dust Brigade Engineer Pistol Infused Dust Brigade Engineer Pistol] is the best choice for the 2nd Hand. Both she and Engineer Pistol have the burst special attack. An alternative with a fling damage might be better. To get this gun combine Dust Brigade Engineer Pistol with Dust Brigade Notum Infuser. The only problem with the equipping it is the high multi Ranged required, maybe with some tinkering, but you get the point.
  • Dreadloch Combat Remodulator Dreadloch Combat Remodulator (End game) this weapon is not used for is damage of 25 - 50 (20). Its extremely quick attack or recharge time (0.02s) still does not justify it for its damage. Its special attack Nanite Interruption reduces your targets evades by -750 making it a an easier target for your Bot. In PvP it effectiveness varies based on the profession you are fighting. You need consider your opponents profession when choosing to use this weapon.
  • Innovatory Pistol Turnspirit Pistols Maker/Creator for clan, Ingenious/Innovatory for omni. Very high max damage make this good for RK mobs/aliens, but no specials and low min damage. Clan version is made from Sacrosanct Pistol + Turn Spirit of Bacam-Xum, omni version made from Inamorata Pistol + Turn Spirit of Aam. The weapons drop off sided mobs, the turn spirits can be bought from Yutto Manuals in form of Turnspirit Flesh Pouches and they drop from the heck bosses in inferno (near incarnator).
  • Kyr'Ozch Pistol - Type 1 Kyr'Ozch Pistol - {{safesubst:#if:|1/254625/ {{{3}}}|Type 1}} and {{safesubst:#if:|4/254632/ {{{3}}}|Type 4}} is only available for AI players. Type 1 does fling and type 4 does burst. The very high Multi-range requirement means you will not get the same ql on both hands. Until your burst is around 1300 it is best to have a higher type 1. Found from aliens, type 1/4 upgrades found on Generals/Admirals of city aliens.
  • Ofab Peregrine Mk 6 Ofab Peregrine Mk 6: Currently the best pistol weapon. You buy it in the tower shop for Victory Points, which you get by either killing aliens in the mothership or joining PvP in the battlestations. You then need to upgrade it five times with Kyr'Ozch Bio-Material - Type 812 (any ql), found on the boss in the mothership. Can be dualed, even at ql300.

Grenades[edit]

Sooner or later most SL Engies change to grenades. The reason is you can get a grenade weapon with acceptable damage on high level without spending a lot of IP. In theory, you can could use Kyr'Ozch Pistol - Type 1 and Kyr'Ozch Pistol - Type 4 causing significantly more damage, but dark blue skill requires make equipping two pistols difficult. As its stands you have to choose between Trade skills or weapon skills. Many choose trade skills and go with grenades.

At low levels, grenades are not an option. The damage of nearly all available low level able grenade throwers is clearly less than pistols. The exception is the Ballistic Launcher Pistol, which is only available to SL players. The damage is good, the weapons skills can be buffed well, the weapon is one handed, but the extremely high multi Ranged requirements often result in looking for a different second hand weapon.

Since grenade throwers only make sense when they have special attacks which are found on Kyr'Ozch Grenade Gun - Type 1 or even Premium Nizno's Bomb Blaster. The latter is easy to get, but points in Fling Shot definitely not worth it.

Beginner Grenade[edit]

  • Red Line Grenade Launcher Red Line Grenade Launcher: Slow, but has nice damage, and sounds great. Dyna loot. Often bought for Mech Engineer buff +30 buff
  • Fine Tuned MTI Pocket Launcher MTI Pocket Launcher: Only available up to QL50 from shops.
  • OT 12 OT 12: A lot of noise and damage, but extremly slow.
  • Ballistic Launcher Pistol Ballistic Launcher Pistol Shadowlands shotgun pistol

Intermediate Grenade[edit]

  • OT Hurler Factotum OT Hurler: Weapon QL 140 to 150 with 150 offering extra buffs. Does reasonable damage on RK mobs but is a rare rare dyna drop.
  • Kyr'Ozch Grenade Gun Low ql untyped Kyr'Ozch Grenade Gun: Cheap IP and good damage.
  • Ballistic Launcher Pistol Ballistic Launcher Pistol Shadowlands weapon

End game Grenade[edit]

  • Prohibited Hand-Mortar of Bacam-Xum Prohibited Hand-Mortar of Bacam-Xum ( Tradeskill weapon) recommended at level 205. This trade skill weapons parts are easy to get. Its buffs are nice.
  • Dreadloch Obliterator Dreadloch Obliterator (NODROP): Best Grenade weapon currently in game. Drops from the Dreadloch camps, guide for omni and clan.
  • Prohibited Hand-Mortar of Bacam-Xum Prohibited Hand-Mortar of Bacam-Xum: Low damage, but low IP investment and good mods.
  • Premium Nizno's Bomb Blaster Premium Nizno's Bomb Blaster ( Tradeskill weapon)
  • Kyr'Ozch Grenade Gun - Type 1 Kyr'Ozch Grenade Gun - Type 1: Weapon is dropped from Aliens, type 1 upgrade is found on Generals/Admirals of city aliens.

Shotguns[edit]

Those who really want to shoot shotguns, hopefully knows what he is doing, and even has an idea of its equipment.

  • Diamondine Kick Pistol Diamondine Kick Pistol for high-level Atrox Engie
  • Enchanted Waterfall Eye Wind Onehander Enchanted Waterfall Eye Wind Onehander for PvP players

Heavy Weapons[edit]

Some heavy weapons have been recommend for Sector 10 and PvP

  • Massive Bolt Charger Massive Bolt Charger is a heavy weapon (SL Required) with a 1 second Attack/Recharge that has been reported as inflicting 100K/Damge Per Minute (DPM) in Sector 10. If you can get a hold of one it might be worth a try. With a damage skill of Duck explosives, many in PvP will not be ready for it.
  • Excellent Sleek Cannon Excellent Sleek Cannon (Froob friendly). Slower but is up-gradable to Amplified Sleek Cannon

Assault Rifle[edit]

  • Dreadloch Modified Shark Dreadloch Modified Shark (NODROP) Why should only the soldiers have this weapon? The equipping is more complicated but not impossible. From the Damage, the D-Shark represents the absolute Non plus Ultra for Engi's. Also the Proc of the weapon (5% chance on -1000RS) is exactly our thing. Together with the new aura of the AiPF one could come on -2500 R-S with the opponent, which means he remains standing practically in place.
