Filigree Ring

A time consuming process, compared with making Blood Plasma from Monster Parts, that is nonetheless an integral part of the only way to maximize the return from rings and bracers found as loot; the other half of the process being using the Jensen Gem Cutter on Rubi-Ka gems and using the cut gems together with rings to make finished rings. It rewards players who are at their maximum desired level or who wish to afford the best equipment while leveling, but fits less well of the strategy of leveling as fast as possible to gain better rewards later.

The process of making Shadow Gem Rings is the same as for making finished rings, and although the gems required come from the Shadowlands and the finished product is considerably more valuable, that process also requires Filigree Rings, and can be performed by free players on Rubi-Ka.

Shadowlands 'Gold Ingots' cannot be used for this or any other tradeskill process, only Rubi-Ka 'Small Gold Ingots'.

Short and long term goals come into play when buying the Wire Drawing Machine, higher QLs of which can rapidly become expensive.

None of the processes leading up to the finished ring increase the value of the metal. Changing the loot drops to metal actually decreases the value. The finished article sells for about 3.5 times the value of the metal, and over 2.5 times the value of the dropped loot. Adding a gem of sufficiently close QL to the ring increases the value of both items by about 50%, but matching the items can be difficult, costing time and potential profits. There is value added to cutting the gem, although the greatest increase in value is by making the loot item or metal into a ring. The best strategy is to decide on what size batches should be stored in order to get the most possible matches for the time spent, with cash flow as a consideration.

Tradeskill Process

The combination of items in Anarchy Online works as follows:

Open the tradeskill window (Shift + T). Here you can place the two items you want to combine in the left and middle part. The resulting Item will be shown in the right area. Missing skills, or non possible combinations will be shown below. A detailed look on the resulting item is possible with a simple shift-left-click on it. It is recommended to have free inventory space before combining items, else the item will end in the overflow window.

This example shows the combination on the basis of the Gold Ingots.
The process is the same for silver and platinum.

Note: The QL of the ring is decided in the last step and can be bumped up based on Skill level. I've had it bump 4 levels on gold and silver.
