Reactivate Account
Funcom is deactivating Anarchy Online Froob Accounts. You get notified of this block when connecting to the game Anarchy Online and receiving a blocked message.
Error - Not paid
Your account is not paid for or has been blocked.
To check the status of your account log in to register.funcom.com
Clicking on the link will take you to https://account.anarchy-online.com/
Some can connect to their account, click the reactivate option, and they are done.
For others, there is no reactivate option on the web page. Or we cannot connect to our account because it reports invalid password, but the password is valid on the Anarchy Online client.
Reactivate using TSW site[edit]
The current preferred method for reactivating an Anarchy Online account is to use a TSW SITE.
- Logon using https://register.thesecretworld.com/account
- If you get invalid password go to Invalid Password
- Under My Account > Click Home > Click Reactivate Button > Click a different Reactivate Button
- You will receive a message stating your account has been activated.
- Click Home button and you will see an updated Membership Valid until date.
Re-activate Procedure using Anarchy-online.com[edit]
If your are missing the reactivate button on this site, you can do try the following steps.
- Connect to your account on https://account.anarchy-online.com/
- If you get invalid password go to Invalid Password
- Then paste this address on your browse https://account.anarchy-online.com/uncancel_sub
- Sometime addition options appear on the page.
- Connect to the game using Anarchy Online Client.
Invalid Password[edit]
You are able to connect to the Anarchy Online game but cannot connect to the web site https://account.anarchy-online.com/ because of an invalid password message.
Your IP has been blocked by Funcom.
This occurs after three attempted connections to different accounts on the same day (24 hours).
Once it’s blocked, it can take 24 hours or weeks before it clears up. Definitely wait at least 24 hours before trying to connect to any accounts. Otherwise, the 24 hour blocking timer starts over.
Block IP - Work Around
- Wait a week or maybe a day for the hidden block to be lifted.
- Connect computer to another internet access point. Try going to a coffee shop or library and use their internet connection. Maybe use a friends smartphone hotspot.
- VPN can be used if you have access to one that allows connection to gaming sites.
- Use your Smart Phone or Pad. Turn WIFI off on it, so it uses its cellular data connection. Then connect to the website.
- My smart phone does not show a Logout option.
- To connect to another account cleanout the browser history.
If you still get Invalid password. You can try resetting the password.
- I did this for a couple of OLD accounts that continue fail on the password for several weeks. I still needed to go to a coffee shop to get connected.
Resetting Password[edit]
There are two sites with the lost password option. Try them both if need be.
- Click “Forgot your password?” that sends you to https://account.anarchy-online.com/lostpassword
- Click “lost password”, that sends you to https://register.thesecretworld.com/lostpassword/
Preventing Account from being Blocked Again by Funcom[edit]
- Once you are in-game on your toon, create a /petition with the Question category and request your AO Account to stop being deactivated.
- Otherwise, after about a month, your Froob account will be deactivated again.
- To prevent the IP Block, don't connect to AO accounts more than 3 times a day (24 hours) using any combination of the account websites
