Anarchy Online Wiki [AOWiki]:Icons and Links
Overview[edit]
AO Wiki uses different types of mediawiki tags to display icon graphics and links to item databases. These include scripts, templates, and inter wiki links. With these tags, an item's AODBID or ICONID is specified. AODBID is the unique identifier used in the Anarchy Online Item database. ICONID identifies the icon graphics file used for the item. AODBID and ICONID often do not have the same value for non-unique equipment.
Tip: To get AODBID for an item, visit an up to date Items Database site such as http://www.xyphos.com or http://aodb.us/ to find the item. Once you select the item, look on the websites URL. The value to the right of the ID= is the AODBID. To get the ICON id, right click on the icon image, select save image as and you will see a file name. The first part of the file name before ".gif" is the ICONID. For an example using the item used on this page visit this XYPHOS link.
AODB is the latest mediawiki script. Its item link defaults to http://www.xyphos.com with an option to use http://auno.org instead. It also provides some other features such as ICON sizing. Do not confuse this script with the template AODB that only displays ICON graphics.
Tag Types[edit]
- Mediawiki Scripts are surrounded by < and >
- Templates are surrounded by double sets of {{ and }}.
- Interwiki links use double [[ and ]] with its name followed by colon and the AODBID.

Tip: To find the ICONID value, visit XYPHOS, find the item you are looking for, Right Click on the icon, select save image as, and then a popup will appear with a file name containing the ICONID.

Note: XYPHOS lacks connectivity between related items that do not share the exact same name. In this example, to link to a QL 122 Mausser Chemical Streamer requires the appropriate AODBID for that QL instead of the AODBID used above for "Exquisite Mausser Chemical Streamer".
