Desert Rider

Desert Rider is raid mob that made its first appearance at Anarchy Online's the 10th Anniversary in 2011. For four weeks players would spawn this Raid Mob by giving birthday presents to The Tinker. These presents were dropped by Desert Nomads wondering the deserts of Rubi-ka. Once 5,000 were acquired or a GM help, the tinker was replaced by a large yellow present to entice the mob and his fanatics to investigate. A system wide message would also be sent announcing his arrival.

The Desert Rider has arrived! Hurry to coordinates X: 2232 Z:1586 in Newland Desert. You should use the whompah.

The players meet up behind the the Newland Desert Oasis and form a raid team to attack the Desert Rider and his fanatics. After the rider is defeated, a jar (called the "Glowing Torch") appears next to the corpse. Right clicking on it would award you a Ganimedes Personal Jetpack. However, due to people crowding the jar and making it unclickable, this item has been made available in the FunCom Shop for 0 points for a limited time. This item is NODROP UNIQUE, and is convertible with a screwdriver to become Ganimedes Personal Jetpack - Visored.
