Halloween on Rubi-Ka is a strange and wondrous time. The skies all over the planet darken, mist and fog creeps over the land, the day shortens, and Uncle Pumpkin Head starts appearing in areas around the Terraformed zone. In the cities, strange leets appear offering tricks (in the form of shape change effects) and treats to curious the passerby who stops to talk with them. Often there are also parties led by ARK, GM appearances, and all manner of other mischief to be had. The festivities for Halloween last for two weeks, a week before October 31st, and a week afterward.
Each new Halloween brings some new and interesting additions to the gifts, loot, and events that happen.
Features
Halloween Fog
Halloween fog is very much unlike any other fog found on Rubi-Ka or in the Shadowlands. This fog is dark black and limits visibility to about 30 meters in all directions, with only a slight abatement during the day. The fog also makes the light of the sun of Rubi-Ka little more than a lantern light in the dark during the day. This is all used to add to the spooky atmosphere and it does not inhibit map usage or way point markers. If you feel it is too much atmosphere, you can turn off the fog in the Environment Effects > Fog & Ground section of the Options Menu (Short cut key F10). To turn of the fog through a script or macro use the command /option FogMode 0 |
Uncle Pumpkin Head
Main Article: Uncle Pumpkin Head
This strange and ghostly creature rises every year in the whole of Mort and the areas around Land Control Areas, and more recently a new more powerful variety (the Griefing Uncle Pumpkin Head) can be found in permanent 25% pvp zones. Despite this, not much is known about the nature of this creature, what it's aims are, or where it comes from. |

2008 (29482)
In 2008 we saw the return of the Griefing Uncle Pumpkin Heads giving out similar loot to the ones found in missions. Additionally, UPH seemed to find his way onto the official AO forums to play a cryptic game with the players by leaving clues to some strange mystery.

I win Button
Part of the "Just because I can" Halloween content, these buttons were placed near the grid in Old Athen and Omni Trade. If you use the button you do a little victory dance and it is proudly proclaimed that you win. If you press the button too many times, you, and anybody around you, get blown across the playfield! This can occasionally result in getting stuck in the geometry or messy pants. |

2007 (29481)
The loot amount was really scaled up for Halloween in 2007 with the introduction of a whole host of shirts, collectibles, a promotional Phasefront vehicle, and a new type of Uncle Pumpkin Head. Also some very old and coveted items became available to people patient enough to run endless missions and camp the dangerous Griefing Uncle Pumpkin heads in 25% pvp zones. Missions given out for 'treats' by the Halloween leets allowed players a chance to get coveted loot from previous years.
