Condemned Subway
The Condemned Subway is the first dungeon for newcomers to on Rubi-Ka.
Any player 1-24 may enter, but it is made for low level players in the level range ~5 - 24; players below 5 may find it tough going.
Entering the dungeon is limited to level 24 max; while you can stay inside the dungeon and level beyond that you won't be able to reenter it once you have left it with a level 25 or higher. If you log out inside the Subway at level 25 or higher, you will log back in outside it. Warping into the dungeon is blocked (at least for players past level 24).
The subway can be entered in the cities Borealis, West Athen and outside the eastern gates of Rome (Rome Stretch, Pos: 174,874). There are nonworking subway entrance in Newland City and Tir. Each entrance leads to a different instance of the subway -- each entrance, in turn, may generate multiple instances of the subway, depending on how many people are using a given entrance.
Note: If you want to explore the subway with friends, make sure to pick the one where all of you can go to safely (there are Clan guards near the subway in West Athen and Omni ones outside Rome Blue District). Since a given entrance may generate a different instance, team up before entering the subway -- without teamed before hand, you may end up in different instances (unable to see each other while being virtually at the same place).
The upper level(s) of the subway actually resemble the feeling of a real subway station with shops, ramps and platforms. Eumenides guards the access tunnel to the lower, second part of the dungeon, which looks more like a sewer (maintenance) system. As usual, the further you run into the dungeon, the more dangerous the mobs get.

Most of the mobs have standard loot, common to similar type mobs you find in missions and outdoors, including weapons, implants and clusters, first aid kits and so on
Additionally, you may find Living Cyber Armor parts (drop rate increases dramatically past Eumenides), pieces for the first Ergo Ring quest, Eleet dolls and Morphing Memories, slot 1 NCU chips which can be leveled up.

Eumenides is a level 20 boss guarding the lower part of the subway in one of the railroad tunnels. Drop:

Vergil Aeneid
Vergil Aeneid is a ~level 29 boss. He is pretty much at the end of the dungeon, guarding the lair of Abmouth. Usually there are 2 mobs beside him, but they are in no way connected with Vergil in regard to spawning, but tend to share a similar aggro range and/or social aggro when Vergil is attacked. Drop:

Abmouth Supremus
Abmouth Supremus is the level 30 final boss of the Subway. Usually he is standing in a small pit at the very end, sometimes already guarded by 2 infectors; if they are not already spawned, they will spawn when Abmouth is attacked. The infectors can be handled by an experienced Calm caster (e.g. NT, Bureaucrat, MP). An additional reason for calming the infectors, other than the usual damage reduction role of Crowd Control, is that the infectors will respawn a few seconds after their death. However, it can be vital at times to dispose of them, if no one in the team can calm, or for other reasons, for instance if they resist a calm and/or cannot be taunted off of healers. Tactics: Possibly the first ever real boss fight you will encounter as a lowbie, Abmouth packs a punch to any who gets within his reach. Melee range professions that are not twinked (for example, a Neleb-subway twink) will be outdamaged by Abmouth. It is not recommended to tank this encounter unless your tank has at least 1000 health, which is rather high for a Level 24. An average team will find it difficult to bring down this beast as his crushing attacks can kill off your team seconds after the fight begins, and good, well prepared teams can be worn down as he has a massive amount of health. A common tactic is to use pets to draw away Abmouth's attention while the rest of the team hides behind an opposing wall and shoots / nukes from a distance. Ranged nano-casters and gun users must maintain maximum range at all times, and characters who create high levels of aggro such as doctors and NTs must keep their distance. Using the room layout can be a good tactic. Study its infrastructure, and you will know where to hide throughout the course of the fight. Drop:
The Belt and Juggler's Treat always drop together, it's either both of them or none; their drop chance is with a rough guess at about 30%. |
