Tradeskill Tools

When Tradeskilling there are a great many items that are not consumed in a process and simply used over and over again. These items are generally referred to as tools (as opposed to components) and are often used in a variety of tradeskill operations.

At least one tradeskill process was fixed, in a patch, to not consume its tool (Hacker Tool) as a component. Almost all tools are not used as ingredients. However, the fact that the items below are all used as tools in many tradeskill processes should not be mistaken for a rule that they are never used as components in any tradeskill process.

An example of what is normally a tool that is consumed is the Bio-Comminutor used to obtain Shadowlands Implants from 'Half Digested Human' parts. Precious Metal Reclaimers were once components, but were made tools in Patch 17.6.

Classic Game

Many of the tools from the Classic AO game are shop buyable so they will be listed under the shops they come from.

General Tools and Bases

• Field Quantum Physics All-Purpose Tool - Used in many operations that require subtly altering the structure of an item.
• ID-Extractor - Exclusively used to extract ID data from holographic cameras.
• Isotope Separator - Exclusively used to create blank nano crystals from carbon rich rock.
• Jensen Personal Ore Extractor - Most commonly used to extract carbon crystals from carbon rich rocks.
• Neutron Displacer - Used in the creation of blank nano crystals and overtuned tank armors.

Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

• Jensen Gem Cutter - Used for cutting and preparing gem stones of all sorts.
• Precious Metal Reclaimer - Used for refining precious metals from Rubi-Ka as well as processing Robot Junk into Junk Metal.
• Screwdriver - The quintessential tool that is used for many tradeskills, including armor creation.
• Wire Drawing Machine - Used for making wire out of melted precious metals.

Pharmacy and Chemistry Tools and Bases

• Bio-Comminutor - Used for processing and grinding tissues.
• HSR - Sketch and Etch - a set of six different devices that are used in the creation of plate armors.

Devices

• Hacker Tool - This tool is used to break the security on many devices.

Tools

• Hacker Tool - This tool is used to break the security on many devices.
• Lock Pick - Used to unlock things like the casings on NCUs.
• Nano Programming Interface - used to change the programing on nanobots or repair programing.

Bookstore

• Sealing Cell Kit - Used for some of the crat tradeskills.

Weapons

• Sledgehammer - Used exclusively to break notum rocks into usable peices.
• E-Beamer - Used for cooking hot wings.

Special Tools

• Mass Relocating Robot (Shape Soft Armor) - Made in a Tradeskill process and is used for making many types of soft armor. Drops from level 60 Dynas and Team mission bosses.
• Mass Relocating Robot (Shape Hard Armor) - Made in a Tradeskill process and is used in making many types of Hard armor, but can be substituted for a screwdriver in all cases as the cost of higher build requirements. Drops from level 60sh Dynas and Team mission bosses.

• Mass Relocating Robot (Improve Crushing Weapons) Drops from level 10'sh mobs
• Mass Relocating Robot (Improve Thrusting Weapons) Drops from level 20'sh mobs
• Mass Relocating Robot (Improve Slashing Weapons) Drops from level 30'sh mobs

• Body Heat Pattern Analyzer Used in constructing basic armor. It is obtained by helping Inspector Marciello solve a murder mystery.

The Notum Wars

• Multi-Purpose Tuner - Used To make Personal Service Towers. The quest to obtain it is obtained from Supply Master Smug (Clan) or Supply Master Eel (Omni).

The Shadowlands

• Ancient Novictum Refiner - Subdues Novictum for Pocket Boss Creation. It can be purchased from Yuttos Tools vendors when they rarely appear in their inventory or can be received from the Scheol scientists quest line.
• Ancient Engineering Device - Made from components from Albtraum
  
• Ancient Medical Device - Made from components from Albtraum
  
• Permafrost Melting Tool - Used to defrost items from Alappaa. Found in the Dust Brigade Outpost
  
• Yuttos Filter - Used to make Frozen Yuttos Remedies from Alappaa
  

Alien Invasion

• Body Heat Pattern Analyzer - Regulates biomesh for Basic Armor
• Kyr'Ozch Atomic Re-Structuralizing Tool - Memory Wipes Kyr'ozch non-lead viral bots.
• Kyr'Ozch Structural Analyzer - Identifies Kyr'Ozch Bio Material and is made from a Tradeskill Process.
• Alien Translation Device - Translates alien disks from Sector 10, and is made from a Tradeskill Process.
• Alien Material Conversion Kit - Processes alien armor materials from Sector 10, and is made from a Tradeskill Process.
